Do the current circumstances disturb you? Are troubles overwhelming you? Do you wish you could just have even a momentary break from all the negativity? You are not alone.
For the past months, most if not all of us have been sailing through rough seas. It has not been easy.
But let me encourage you!
Even in the midst of our chaotic world and the troubles or challenges we face, we can find peace in God’s Presence. This is the reassurance Jesus gave His disciples in John 16: 32-33 “But a time is coming, and has come, when you will be scattered, each to his own home. You will leave Me all alone. Yet I am not alone, for My Father is with Me. I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
We will have trouble while we are on this earth. That is a given. But we also have the privilege and opportunity to know and experience peace while we are on this side. The peace that is not dependent on our circumstances, a peace we cannot manufacture, produce, or create.
It is peace given by the One the prophet Isaiah calls the Prince of Peace. It is a serenity inside our souls that exudes from the inside out when we have Yahweh Shalom in our lives. It is peace beyond our comprehension.
This peace is available to you and me. Jesus invites us to a relationship with Him. He says in Revelation 3:20 “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with Me.”
Will we let Him in? Will we accept the peace that He provides with His presence?
